Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has made another Ethereum transfer. According to on-chain analysis data from blockchain security firm PeckShield, “an address named ‘vitalik.eth’ transferred 3,000 ETH to an address labeled ‘Vb2′.” At the time of writing, ETH was trading at 1,634 USD, so the value of the above ETH is approximately 5 million USD.
After transferring 3,000 ETH, Buterin’s wallet had 933.79 ETH left, worth $1.5 million.
Reason: not disclosed.
According to some members of the Ethereum community, Buterin recently moved ETH continuously, from wallet to wallet, the purpose is to ensure assets are safe, protecting them from being hacked.
Ethereum Price
Ethereum’s price remained relatively stable after the transfer. Over the past 24 hours, ETH has fluctuated below 1%. In fact, the total ETH trading volume during this period hovered over $3.3 billion.
The latest ETH transfer follows Buterin’s transfer of 600 ETH to the Coinbase exchange last week. The nature of the said transaction is still unknown. However, as revealed in a recent news source, it is said that the possibility that Buterin sold 600 ETH is quite high.
